THE MASTHEAD
A text-first magazine for people who still open the case
Retro computing has plenty of excellent video. What it lacks is a proper written record — reviews you can search, repair guides you can keep open on a bench, and history with sources at the bottom. That is what this is.
We publish three or four pieces a week, in British English, with no sponsored reviews and no affiliate padding. If we paid for something, we say what we paid. If we broke something, we say that too.

How we work
- We buy what we review. No sponsored reviews. Loan units are declared and returned afterwards.
- Corrections are permanent. Every correction is logged at the foot of the article with a date.
- Specs come from service manuals. Reference pages cite the manual or board revision they came from.
- Guides get retested. Repair guides are re-run on a second machine before publication.
